About

Hi!

I’m Isabella Bridie DeLeo (she/her), a freelance writer and reporter currently based in Chicago by way of Rhode Island. I focus on arts and culture reporting and Chicago news.

I’ve written for WBEZ, the Chicago Sun-Times, Paste magazine, the Chicago Tribune, Newsweek, Chicago magazine, Providence Monthly, the Shoe Leather Podcast, the Baltimore Sun, the New York Daily News, the Hartford Courant, and more.

I have an M.S. from the Columbia Journalism School and an M.A. in film and media studies from Brown University. When I’m not writing or reading, I’m probably hanging out with my cat Quill or rewatching my favorite show — the disarmingly delightful — Joe Pera Talks With You.

Make my day, say hi! You can email me at isabellabdeleo at gmaildotcom or check out my LinkedIn.

Media appearances:

  • I was invited on WBEZ’s Reset with Sasha-Ann Simons to speak about my work for WBEZ’s 2022 Free Summer Guide. Listen here!
  • My arts and culture reporting for WBEZ was featured in Politico’s Illinois Playbook. Read on here.
